Top 5 First Date Ideas
So you’re about to go out on your first date, but have no idea of what you want to do? Read on ‘cause we’ve got some great ideas for you. Whatever you do, just don’t do the cliché dinner and a movie thing.
1. Coffee Shop
A coffee shop is an awesome idea for a first date since it is relaxed and filled with other people. You can really get to know your date by just sitting there sipping on your coffee and having a nice, genuine conversation. If you’re the one who initiated the date, be sure to pick up the tab on your date’s coffee.
2. Bar with friends
If you want to keep it really low key and low pressure, ask your date if they’d like to go out with some friends together. This will let your date feel comfortable by being around their friends and also take the pressure off of making the conversation keep flowing as there will be others there to add to it. Just don’t get super drunk and make a fool of yourself. After the bar you could break off into just the two of you by going to a coffee shop (see above) or a nightclub (see below) for some hot dancing.
3. Dancing
Going to a club can be a great date, assuming it’s the right club. You don’t want to go to the loudest and most packed club – rather go to a place that is fun but that you’ve got some space to move around in. Also don’t go to a place that is notorious for hookups – the last thing you want is other people hitting on your date all night long.
If you have any salsa dance places near you, those can be awesome, assuming you are up for the intensity. If you’ve already been to a place like this, bonus points here for being able to show off your hot and sexy moves to your date.
4. Carnival or Theme Park
A carnival or theme park might sound like a cheesy idea, but it can actually be a lot of fun. Just make sure your date likes to ride the rides before you go out on this one. You’ll be riding roller coasters (think lots of screaming and touching), riding dark and spooky rides (more touching) and playing games for prizes that you can give your date to show off your prowess.
5. Observatory or science center
Observatories are cool places that are rarely though of where you can spend time learning some cool stuff and also show off your brainpower if you or your date are in to the geekier kind of thing. Science centers (most every major city has one of these) are a good option too where you can walk around and look at neat stuff and have plenty of things to talk about.
